CAZ General Secretary Expendito Chipalo said that thirty cyclists are participating in the five-day race which will cover 920 kilometers for the fight against the disease to mark the Malaria World Day which falls on April 25, 2008.
Day one of the race which will start in Serenje in the Central Province will be the longest leg of the race as it will stretch all the way to Kapiri Mposhi or a distance of 248 km.
The fifth and final leg of the race which will cover 120 km will start from Kalomo in the Southern province all the way to the finish line in Livingstone where the participants will join in the commemoration of World Malaria Day.
Chipalo said that the five-day race, which will start on April 21, will be a test of endurance for the riders as well as preparation for upcoming tournaments at home and abroad.
