Two Spanish Children Get Clinically Treated For Phone Addiction

Two Spanish children have been sent to a mental health institution by their parents to get treatment for addiction to their mobile phones. The children had allegedly ceased to undertake normal activities without first having their phones.

The children, aged 12 and 13, were admitted to Child and Youth Mental Health Centre in Lleida, in northeastern Spain near Barcelona, three months ago. Their concerned parents brought them in after they spend an average of six hours a day on their phones, talking, texting or playing games

In yet another benefit of the sunshine vitamin, scientists have found that sun exposure and vitamin D helps ward off juvenile diabetes. The findings suggest that a lack of vitamin D, which the body produces when ultraviolet light hits the skin, has a role in the development of type 1 diabetes in children.

Researchers at the University of California, San Diego, found that children who live in countries at higher latitudes, such as Canada, where there is less sunlight for much of the year, are far more likely to develop juvenile diabetes than kids who live at or near the equator

Today's teenagers appear to be more behaved than their counterparts 16 years ago. According to a Center for Disease Control and Prevention report, lesser adolescents now indulge in drinking, smoking or sex.
