The boys, aged 9 and 7, did not know each other but were believed to have been swimming in pond areas before contracting Naelgleria, an amoeba that enters the body through the nose and can cause deadly imflammation of the brain.
As a precaution, three city pools were closed for testing Friday.
Melanie Christian, spokeswoman for the Tulsa Health Department, says both boys arrived at the doctor's office with symptoms of fever, hallucinations and headaches.
Of 200 known cases of Naelgleria in the past 40 years, only two have survived.
