The flu has yet to hit real hard yet this year, yet many are reporting getting sick and researchers say its because a lot more infectious agents besides the flu give reason to worry.

Metapneumovirus. Rhinoviruses. Coronaviruses. Parainfluenza and Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), are found on doorknobs, faucets, and appliance handles all around.

Researchers have found some of the viruses wafting through the air we breathe, capable of landing on your eyes or nose and set up shop inside your body.

Strep in the throat and ears, or Norwalk viral agents that attack the GI system, are also killers not passed through the air but still highly contagious and deadly.

Infectious disease experts at the University of Rochester Medical Center have tracked the dangers from one of the most common bugs, RSV, and they say the threat they pose to some groups of people, including the elderly, equals that of flu.

Even though flu gets all the attention, RSV is a stealth bug worthy of attention too.
