The Food and Drug Administration is recalling all flavors of NeutraGard 0.05 percent Neutral Sodium Fluoride Anticavity Treatment Rinse and NeutraGuard Plus 0.2 percent Neutral Sodium Fluoride Anticavity Treatment Rinse.

The FDA says Monday that the dental rinses may be contaminated with Burkholderia cepacia and Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria.

B. cepacia is unlikely to affect healthy people, but it may pose a risk for those with weakened immune systems and chronic lung diseases.

The bacteria can cause severe respiratory infections for those with lung problems.
