The West Nile Virus has popped up in Montgomery County in the State of Texas according to Texas health officials.

The case marks the second time West Nile has appeared in a human, the first was reported July 6 in Swisher county.

There were 119 human cases from 40 counties, including eight deaths, in 2004 statewide.

According to the Houston Chronicle,"Montgomery County has had eight confirmed mosquito cases, while Harris and Galveston have had 63 and two, respectively. Brazoria County has had one bird case."

The virus can cause severe neurological problems including meningitis or encephalitis and is spread by mosquitoes.
