A psychiatrist in the Philippines on Tuesday said happiness is hard to find among obese people, although they can still enjoy life despite being big. Dr. Felicitas Artiaga-Soriano told participants of a health forum in Manila that today's prevailing wisdom that thin is beautiful is negatively affecting obese men and women.

Weight Loss Pill Warning Issued For People Taking Anti-Depressants

A European health watchdog has issued warning over weight-loss drug rimonabant that should not be taken by people who are taking antidepressants or are ongoing major depression.

The European Medicines Agency (EMEA) said doctors in the European Union had been warned "of the risk of psychiatric side effects" of rimonabant brand name Acomplia since June 2006 but it was now upgrading this warning
