Scientists reveal that garlic can improve men's performance in the bedroom, adding to its ability to prevent heart disease and uses to fight cancer and the MRSA superbug, a drug resistant infection.

According to scientific discovery, garlic widens arteries subsequently improving blood flow to the groin. It is also known to boost creation of nitric oxide, a chemical involved in triggering erections.

Dr. Joerg Gruenwald, a research scientist at Berlin University, reportedly has "evidence of how garlic works in heart disease where the arteries are widened so that they reduce the chance of a heart attack. A lot of men with heart disease will have impotence but not realize poor circulation and narrowing of the arteries in the groin is to blame."

Dr. Gruenwald says "Garlic can help. A good flow of blood to the groin means a man should not have a problem with sex."

Consumption of garlic in food doesn't provide a high enough dosage to effect performance, however. Men should increase their garlic intake with daily supplements.

At a recent American Heart Association meeting in Washington, Dr. Gruenwald shared his plans to conduct trials using garlic capsules for men with impotence.

According to scientists, garlic is not known to have any harmful side-effects.
