The annual "Run for Hope" in Singapore has achieved a record amount of more than $245,000 in donations for cancer research, Sunday morning.

Health Minister Khaw Boon Wan joined in the run when it was flagged off at Sentosa.

An estimated 7,200 people participated in this year's event.

This marks Singapore's largest and longest charity ever, which has been supporting cancer research for 15 years.
