World Health Organization officials are puzzled by a polio outbreak in Namibia that has killed 7 adults and paralyzed 33 others. The New York Times reports polio usually affects infants and young children, not adults. Additionally, the southern African country has been free of the disease for a decade. Low supplies of the polio vaccine resulted in there ony being enough for infants. Other were turned away when supplies were depleted |

The third round of 13th National Day of Immunization (NDI) on Sunday (June 11) will vaccinate 24 million children in Bangladesh against polio under a donor-aided program. Besides, the National vitamin 'A' plus campaign this year will also be held on the same day under the same arrangements. The campaign was observed separately during the last three years |
