The book, initiated by the NNC in collaboration with the Livestock Development Council of the Department of Agriculture, Department of Science and Technology's Food and Nutrition Research Institute and the Philippine Information Agency, is titled "Selected Recipes for Eggs - Truly Nutritious.
The book is expected to be launched in September to coincide with the National Federation of Egg Producers of the Philippines poultry show.
The recipe book is a compilation of recipes using eggs from the different provinces in the Philippines.
The recipes include Nutri-Egg Congee from Marinduque, Egg Pasta Delight from Cagayan Valley, "Pinagsapin-saping Itlog" and Egg Clamp Noodle Soup from Southern Tagalog, and Egg Potato Meal from Eastern Visayas.
The growing health consciousness of the Filipinos has resulted in the decline in the sales of eggs in the Philippines. Eggs are considered by many to be high in cholesterol
