Parents should be alerted to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's (FDA's) public health notification warning consumers not to use certain jars of Earth's Best Organic 2 Apple Peach Barley Wholesome Breakfast baby food.

There is a possible risk of contamination of Clostridium botulinum. This can cause botulism, which can even result in death. The FDA warns consumers not to use this product even if it appears or smells okay. Consumers are asked to destroy and discard the product immediately.

The baby food products are sold both individually and as part of a variety pack. The Earth's Best food products were sold through their website and were distributed to retail stores. These products have the following UPC codes: 23923-20223, 23923-20295 and 23923-20223

Although there have not been any reports of illnesses to date, production and distribution of this food has been suspended until the source is found.
