Nineteen people are dead in Panama, and officials are still trying to figure out what killed them.

The prime suspect is a hypertension drug used by thousands; Lisinopril.

Panamanian Health Minister Camilo Alleyne, says drug stores and pharmacies are withdrawing the drug from shelves, while experts are still testing 30 people who are believed to have been poisoned by the pills.

Alleyne says health officials still have no clues as to what about the drug may be killing people, yet they feel that pulling it from shelves is the prudent precaution to take.

According to News-Medical, the mystery illness begins with nausea, fever, diarrhea and weakness, progressing quickly to acute kidney failure, partial paralysis and death. Eleven more people are sick and the illness has struck in the main elderly men being treated for high blood pressure, diabetes and kidney disorders.
