A psychiatrist in the Philippines on Tuesday said happiness is hard to find among obese people, although they can still enjoy life despite being big. Dr. Felicitas Artiaga-Soriano told participants of a health forum in Manila that today's prevailing wisdom that thin is beautiful is negatively affecting obese men and women.

Researchers have called on the Federal Government to tighten advertising controls after their study found that over two-thirds of adverts shown during Australian prime-time children's TV programs promote junk food.
