The American Cancer Society released a report Monday saying new cancer cases in 2007 have reached over 12 million people and 7.6 million were killed by the disease translating to 20,000 deaths daily.

In a report titled "Global Cancer Facts and Figures," it said that worldwide cancer toll registered 5.4 million new cases in developed countries alone, that resulted to the death of 2.9 million people over the course of the year.

The report added that in 2007, developing nations registered 6.7 million new cases of cancer and 4.7 million deaths from the disease.

Among men in developed nations, prostate, lung and colon cancer were the most frequent form of the disease. Cancer of the breast, colon and lung were most prevalent. to women.

Meanwhile, lung, stomach and liver cancer were most common among men in developing nations, while breast, uterine and stomach cancer top the list for the women.
