Reports from the World Health Organization (WHO) say over 1,109 people have died from cholera in Angola, as the epidemic worsens.
After a month of heavy rain, there are now 27,771 cumulative cases nationwide, with 10 of 18 affected provinces reporting fatalities.
According to the WHO, in the last 24 hours, 792 new cases and 24 deaths have been reported.
The non-governmental organization Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF), calls the situation a "national emergency," and confirms much of the WHO data.
