Professor Caroline de Costa made the call in the latest issue of the Medical Journal of Australia on Sunday.
The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), which regulates medical drugs in Australia, has only given permission to de Costa to prescribe the drug to her patients.
No other doctor in Australia has yet to obtain those same rights because of a long-running political debate. Australia's Health Minister Tony Abbott has long opposed the use of the drug.
De Costa, who has long campaigned for the drug's availability, said she was frustrated that most Australian women still could not gain access to it.
