Botox is a drug used by of millions of people worldwide to reduce wrinkles and to treat rigid necks.

But a U.S. watchdog has said that Botox injection is not safe causing 16 deaths including four children.

A consumer advocacy group in the United States petitioned the Food and Drug Administration to increase the warnings on the said cosmetic drug and that it should contain the warnings that it can kill, a British newspaper reported.

The petition said that there have been 180 reports of adverse effects - weakening of muscles and difficulty in swallowing in the United States including the deaths reported.

However, Botox maker Allergan did not immediately responded to requests for comment on the petition. But said that the risks associated with the drug already are made clear in the label in its box.
