Women and Child Development Minister Renuka Chowdhury said the cash incentive will be given in staggered payments to any family members that could give the country additional female member of the society.
Chowdhury also said that incentives will encourage the families for better upbringing and educate the female members.
The Lancet, a British medical journal reported that at least 10 million females were lost over the past 20 years while UNICEF says India loses almost 7000 females everyday through force abortion.
Statistics show India has only 927 females for every 1,000 males, which was far lower than the worldwide average of 1,050 females.
