| Bird flu has resurfaced in different parts of Asia, with human deaths reported in Indonesia, Burma, Pakistan and China and fresh outbreaks plaguing other countries during the winter months when the virus typically flares, officials and scientists say. Pakistan confirmed the country's first death from the bird flu virus on Saturday, the health ministry says in a press statement | | A Tennessee company is recalling cheese it distributed through a suburban grocery store on suspicion that it is contaminated with a bacteria that attacks people with weak immune systems. Le Gourmet Connection has ordered the removal from store shelves of Jack Cheese, Lot No. 539, sold in 10-ounce blocks and distributed between Aug. 28 and Nov. 19 | | The U.S. Food Drug Administration has warned that GlaxoSmithKline Plc's asthma drugs Serevent and Advair may have fatal side effects on children. In a report posted on the FDA's Web site Friday, the agency said at least five users of Serevent, one of Glaxo's biggest-selling medications, died while taking it in the 13 months after U.S. approved its use for children in 2006. Four others under the age of 16 were harmed | | The viral hemorrhagic disease called the Rift Valley Fever (RVF) claimed 12 more lives, bringing the death toll in three eastern Sudan states to 96.
