The President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports is all set to unveil an adult fitness on Wednesday. The test will measure factors such as resting heart rate, muscular strength and endurance and body mass to determine if you are healthy or at risk for disease.

The new test, which is targeting people18 and older will measure most of the exercises that students undertake each year to get a certificate signed by the president. The test involves three basic components: aerobic fitness, muscular strength and flexibility. It tests the aerobic component by a one-mile walk or 1.5-mile run but is not recommended for those who don't run for at least 20 minutes, three times a week.

The strength test consists of push-ups and half sit-ups, which are done until failure and for one minute respectively. The flexibility can be measured by a stretching exercise called the "sit-and-reach" and the scores from all four of the fitness tests can be entered online.

The test also includes information, such as age, gender, height and weight. According to Melissa Johnson, executive director of the council, the do-it-yourself fitness test will "inspire and motivate Americans to move their bodies' more."

Though the test will not guarantee you a presidential certificate, but the results will make a person at par with the people of the same age. May is National Physical Fitness and Sports Month. The President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports recommends "adults 18 and older need 30 minutes a day of moderate physical activity on 5 or more days a week; children and teens need 60 minutes of activity a day for their health."
