An 18-year-old Malaysian woman, the country's first double organ transplant recipient, died Tuesday. She was the first recipient, who received a new heart and lungs.

The patient, Siti Salmah Jasni, successfully underwent the transplant but she never left hospital after the operation. Doctors confirmed that they had taken out her respirator on Monday after her vital signs improved.

As of the meantime, hospital officials did not make any statement regarding the patient's cause of death.

The teen's blood pressure suddenly dropped before she died. She only survived for 25 days after the operation.

Siti suffered from multiple pulmonary hypertension before she was operated at the heart institute on November 2. Her donor was a woman, who was killed in an accident.
