A FDA researcher gave the go-ahead to fans of Apple's iPod in a report released Friday concluding the popular digital music players are safe for heart pacemaker wearers.

Government researcher Howard Bassen said the iPod generated 0.2 millionths of a Telsa at 5 to 10 millimeters from a simulated pacemaker. The finding seemed to refute earlier scientific suggestions that the music players be labeled as potentially dangerous to cardiac pacemaker users.

"Based on the observations of our in-vitro study we conclude that no interference effects can occur in pacemakers exposed to the iPods we tested," Bassen wrote.
