Federal health officials are warning parents and doctors not to give a certain antihistamine drug to children younger than two years old.

The agency cites seven fatal cases linked to promethazine hydrochloride, sold by Wyeth under the brand name Phenergan as well as in various generic versions.

According to the Food and Drug Administration, the labels on all versions of the drug have been updated to reflect the strengthened warnings.
