A new study suggests exercising regularly may protect against skin cancer.

Researchers from The Rutgers University team based their finding on the fact that female mice exposed to a form of ultraviolet light took longer to develop skin tumors if they had access to a running wheel.

The researchers say exercise appeared to speed up the rate at which cancer cells die. However, experts warned the study, published in the journal Carcinogenesis, was not an excuse to go out in the sun unprotected.
