Homeland Security Report Criticizes Red Cross Methods

An investigative report from the House Committee on Homeland Security finds that the American National Red Cross (Red Cross) emergency disaster relief efforts over the past several years have not provided effective and necessary critical emergency relief services after large-scale natural disasters and other emergencies.

Federal Officials Conduct Flu Pandemic Practice

Federal officials practiced what they would do if there were a flu pandemic. About 20 Cabinet secretaries and government officials were part of the four-hour test. Their conclusion is that local communities are going to have to step up to help save lives and contain the economic damage. They also said more vaccines and medications have to be made.
