New Study Says Sleep Deprivation Costing American Employees Work Productivity

Federal Report Urges For Need Of More Frequent Surveys In Hospice Care

A recent report by the inspector general's office of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services says that three states, namely California, Illinois and Michigan lack in Medicare hospice and need more frequent surveys.

Alleging that the hospice programs were ignored by state inspectors for nine years and were long overdue for certification, the report said that 46 percent of the hospices were cited for at least one health deficiency, such as missing or inadequate patient-care plans

New Drug For Rare Blood Clotting Disorder Approved By FDA

A new biologic drug, Ceprotin (Baxter Healthcare Corp, Deerfield, IL) was approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Friday for the treatment of a rare blood clotting disorder.

Ceprotin was shown to be "effective" for 94 percent of the participants in a trial study. Only six percent of the patients studied had complications due to dosage adjustment needs, yet these patients still experienced effective results

Sleep Apnea Disorder Linked To Silent Brain Damage
