Researchers find that compounds in the vegetables appear to interfere with bladder cancer cells, particularly aggressive cells, according to a Reuters report.
Scientists caution that it is too early to make recommendations or determine, for example, how much broccoli people need to eat in order to fight bladder cancer.
"Preliminary evidence suggests that these compounds may have some biological activity in slowing the growth of bladder cancer cells," study author Dr. Steven Schwartz tells Reuters Health.
