A British scientist claims that he has developed a formula by which anyone can calculate their ideal work-life balance rating.

The formula, (((L+As) /2) 2 + ((E+N) /2) + 2A + C + B) x (4/ (S+1)), has been developed by British Neuropsychologist Dr David Lewis. The formula is based on parameters including time spent at work or commuting and with the family, exercising or asleep.

"We know that long working hours, commuting, lack of sleep, minimal exercise and less time with the family combine with stress to put our lives out of kilter, but this is the first time a mathematical formula has been used to measure the impact," Lewis told to the Independent newspaper.

Lewis also claimed that this was the first time a mathematical formula had been devised to calculate what really constitutes a perfectly balanced life.
