London - Scientists say Thursday that resistance to flu drugs has risen by 12 percent worldwide in the past decade, raising concerns for health officials trying to avert a pandemic

Indonesia's health minister says Sunday they are investigating a possible human case of bird flu after a 37-year-old woman dies showing symptoms of the disease.

If confirmed, this would be Indonesia's fourth human fatality from avian influenza. In July, Indonesia became the fourth Asian country to record human cases after a man and his two daughters died following contraction of the H5N1 strain of the virus
