Local head official Hasanul Irbai told Xinhua news agency, that four people have died of the virus in recent months.
Irbai said that they suspect that seven children are carriers of Bird Flu virus.
The seven children are residents of Merampi Hulu village, Siak regency in the province on Sumatra island.
Irbai said that the Siak government ordered the immediate the transfer of the children to Arifin Achmad Hospital in (provincial capital) Pekanbaru.
Last October 22, the government confirmed that bird flu was the cause of death a 10-year-old girl in Riau, bringing the total of national casualties to 89.
It was learned that the girls' aunt died of suspected bird flu, though health officials have yet to settle their report because they did not take blood samples.
Indonesia now holds the highest casualties of bird flu in the world with a total of 109-infection rate and 89 casualties.
