The Alcohol Education and Rehabilitation Foundation said warning labels, such as those on cigarette packets, will help in preventing binge drinking particularly among young people.
Foundation spokesman Scott Wilson said to the ABC that, "Sixty per cent of Australian youth do get into binge drinking. I think that if there was actually a warning on there, some of those youth might actually take the message and not actually consume while they're in that sort of state."
The foundation said alcohol health warning labels already occur in the U.S., Canada and some European countries.
