A new clinical study of omega-3 essential fatty acid supplements in substance abusers suggests that fish-oil supplements may reduce levels of anger, thereby potentially alleviating aggressive behavior. The 13 patients who received the fish oil showed a clinically significant and progressive decrease in their Profiles of Mood States anger subscale scores. No change was observed in the 11 patients in the placebo group |
