Abdur Rahim, a doctor at the local Civil Hospital told the Associated Press that the deaths occurred over the past two days. Water samples have been sent to a lab to find the cause of the contamination.
The incident took place in the district of Zhob, about 250 kilometers northeast of Quetta.
The victims have been admitted to the hospital with diarrhea, vomiting and stomachache.
Six children between the ages of 7 and 12 and five women are also among the dead.
All the 150 sick people along with the 30 seriously ill are being treated at the Zhob Civil hospital.
According to The Associated Press report, preliminary investigation suggests that the water became infected the towns of Sambaza, Sherani and Kakar Khurasan where villagers mainly use rainwater, stored in outdoor ponds, for drinking and washing.
