16-year-old Zachary Jones died Friday after finding the bat, capturing it and letting it ago. His death occurs less than a week after the popular football player and straight A student was hospitalized.
Deena Logan, whose daughter is a cheerleader at the Humble High School where Jones attended, says, "The kids right now are in shock, they're asking themselves, how can this happen to such an all-American boy, a football player?"
Jones, who was hospitalized on May 6, died despite inventive drug cocktails and the valiant efforts made by physicians.
