AFP reports quoting WHO spokeswoman Sari Setiogi that the new cases of polio infection have been detected over the past two weeks in several areas on western Java island. It's the Java island were the diseases broke out this year.
Meanwhile, Indonesian government has declared that it will carry out latest rounds of vaccination campaign on August 30 and September 27. Almost 24.3 million children nationwide will come under the vaccination program.
The health ministry has predicted that the campaign will cost 230 billion rupiah equivalent to $21.7 million USD.
According to AFP report, almost 6.5 million children have been vaccinated in Indonesia since the first case of polio was detected in April.
